Willemstad– Curaçao Chamber of Commerce & Industry gave a few very important sessions during March webinar series such as Business goals setting that took place the 2nd and the 4th. Business goal setting is important for a company, as the future is not set in stone. Business goals can provide a clear direction of the desirable outcome and clarity on the decision making in a company.

When a company sets goal, it illustrates the priorities of the business and increases assurance for future control. By setting goals you can have a clear overview of the long-term and short-term motivations.

Following we had the session of Income tax and Sales tax that took place 8th,10th & 15th, 17th of March. This session was focused on everybody that has to pay income tax, so it is important to understand the structure of income tax so that you can understand the points to consider. During this webinar the participants elaborated on the rates of the income tax and much more.

One of the taxes that all entrepreneurs have to comply with is the sales tax, that is why it is important to be at the height of the aspects, exemptions and deductions.

The OB webinar was focussed on helping entrepreneurs understand how it works and what the rules are. What is sales tax, who has to pay for sales tax are some of the topics covered in the webinar. On the 25th of March, Curaçao Chamber had a webinar of Landsverordening tot wijziging van Boek 2 van het Burgelijk Wetboek.

As of January 1, 2021, Curaçao legal entities law has changed considerably on a number of points. These changes concern, among other things, the extension of liability for members of the supervisory board, the maintenance of a beneficiary register by the Stichting Particulier Fonds, the abolition of bearer shares, decision-making outside the meeting of shareholders and the extension of the right of inquiry.

On the 22nd & 23rd of March the webinar of Business Model Canvas was presented by Mr. Dennis Dare. The Business Model Canvas is an excellent tool to: develop or innovate your business model; explain how you are going to create, deliver value and generate revenue; test your business idea and assumptions; see where you will need to pay extra attention; tweak your offer to your target customers.

The series continued with the webinar of Doing Business with Colombia – Digital Mission Opportunity on the 30th. During this webinar, they focused on different topics related to the general information on the Colombia market, pandemic status of the market, but also the potential business opportunities brought to you by Holland House Colombia based in Bogota.

In this session the first Curacao-Colombia digital mission was launched, which will take place in less than 3 months, giving Curaçao companies the unique opportunity to meet digitally 1 on 1 with Colombian counterparts.

Finally, the series terminated with the Webinar of Business formation on the 29th and 31st of March.
This webinar was about the steps that the entrepreneur has to take to formalize their business. In this webinar there was information about who is an entrepreneur, the characteristics of an entrepreneur, the ways of doing business, the judicial forms and much more.

The March webinars series gathered 341 participant and most of them rated the presentation and the presenter as very successful.
